![]() NetherRealm has not announced its next title, which is peculiar for a team that usually releases a game every other spring. RELATED: Josh Lawson Never Expected His Best Reviews to Come From Mortal Kombat Mortal Kombat 11 pushed that even further by having 12 fighters and a story expansion over a year-and-a-half. Mortal Kombat X and Injustice 2 extended that and got eight and nine fighters, respectively, doled out over their first seven to 10 months. Mortal Kombat 9 and Injustice: Gods Among Us both got four fighters that were just spread out a few months after launch. Regardless, this has been the longest NetherRealm has supported any of its games, which was the intent from the start. Some did hold out hope because of how silence can be interpreted either way, but, alas, that hope for Kombat Pack 3 has been smashed. There was no meaningful celebration for its second anniversary. ![]() Kombat League seasons were also being recycled with only scant amounts of new gear. The fighter had also only gotten a couple of very small balance updates in the ensuing months.
